Responsibilities

  • Contact customers to discuss and clarify accounts receivable and request payment
  • Provide support to customers inquiries and invoice copy requests
  • Follow up on short pay and credit requests with sales staff and customers
  • Review account statements with customers, identify and reconcile any shipping or receiving discrepancies with the shipping department, and rectify records as needed
  • Send follow up account statements to customers upon request
  • Assist with customer and vendor email correspondence
  • Prepare and issue credit memos for returns as approved by the AR/AP Manager
  • Post customer payments to invoices in the accounting system
  • Review inbound freight invoices and match charges to PO records
  • Assist the A/R Manager with day-to-day operations
 

Qualifications/Experience Required

  • 2-year degree preferred or equivalent experience
  • 3-5 years of experience in accounts receivable including customer facing contacts
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Analytical and invoice vs payment reconciling skills
  • Organized, accurate and detail oriented
  • Maintain composure and professional communication when communicating with customers, salespeople, accounting and warehouse staff
  • Experience with automated accounting systems and basic accounting knowledge
  • Solid computer skills with basic Excel skills
  • Knowledge of Salesforce/AvSight and/or Salesforce based accounting systems is helpful
